If you've ever had any interest in betting in the UK, then Ladbrokes should be a familiar name. They are now a part of the entertainment giant Hilton Group – and Ladbrokes can now successfully claim to be the world's largest bookmaker with a global reputation to match! Ladbrokes can now be considered an industry leader in hospitality and gaming, and its stellar reputation serves to reassure anyone that plans to place a bet in its online casino that it operates with impeccable fairness and security. Ladbrokes online casino built its reputation over years of operating with integrity and discretion – characteristics that casino gamers demand and that Ladbrokes is not likely to compromise. Ok, so we know that Ladbrokes is a safe bet, but is it a fun one as well?
In 2005, Ladbrokes' online casino underwent a long-overdue makeover; however, we still don't think the website is inspiring or elegant, and certainly isn't worthy of such a big-time operator's name. Though the website functions well enough, it is still dull and doesn’t offer the 'excitement factor' – an essential element in the online casino industry. Worse, we found a dearth of published useful information for online gaming newbies and less-than-adequate previews of the gaming experience that Ladbrokes offers. The website has included a basic 'Help' section covering software download and installation, and how to register an account. We think that there should at least be a FAQ section where more information can be offered, including the very basic information on minimum hardware/computer requirements. Ladbrokes does offer a good set of customer support options, including live chat (neat!) that are available 24/7 to answer questions. However, we still think that an all-encompassing user guide would be helpful to visitors. We also think that Ladbrokes could learn a valuable lesson about how to sell the excitement of the modern gaming experience from its online gaming rivals.

Ladbrokes online casino redeems itself a bit once you get through the website clutter and get to the games. At Ladbrokes, size does matter and it has endowed its online casino with a staggering 160 games through its download casino and just a bit less, 100, if you choose the instant play option. If you want the most authentic casino experience, you will do well to choose the downloadable games – it uses Microgaming's Viper software suite, which renders the richest looking casino games available and offers smooth-as-silk gameplay with the most options anywhere in cyberspace. Even if you use an archaic dialup connection, the size of the download software will work well on your PC. Even software installation and account registration were surprisingly easy and simple. If you're looking for the best online casino simulation, you'll definitely like 'Live Dealer' games, which add that extra 'oomph' to the Blackjack, Baccarat, Sic Bo and Roulette tables.
Although the instant play casino games are beautifully produced, we do have to challenge Ladbrokes on its claim that these games 'play instantly from any computer'. We found just the opposite – we tried playing the instant play games from an Apple Mac, using the 3 main Mac browsers (Safari, Internet Explorer and Firefox) with the most recent version of Flash installed on the machine – with no luck. The outcome of our tests were certainly not what we were led to believe would happen. We just don't understand why an online casino of Ladbrokes' stature would have an instant play casino using Flash - which should have the advantage of allowing a wider range of users being able to access the games – and then have it not work on a very common non-Windows machine. Hopefully, Ladbrokes Casino has recognised this error and is already in the process of fixing it.

Grousing aside, if you are using the Windows platform, then the Ladbrokes casino will be fairly easy for you to access and play its games. Ladbrokes online casino offers its players good promotions and a Player's Club. Whilst these are by no means stellar incentives, we'll take them anyway! Individual players will no doubt be excited by the large number of progressive jackpots Ladbrokes has along with their ability to impart some serious cash to one lucky player! Now, Ladbrokes is a seriously huge online casino, meaning it has lots of progressive-hunting slot jockeys riding through its lobby doors every day. This equals humongus jackpots of staggering proportions in a very short period of time.
No question, Ladbrokes Casino represents good gaming from a great brand with a great reputation. Online gaming newcomers may be a bit put off by the site upon first glance, as some of the casino's offerings are not delivered as advertised. However, we think that Ladbrokes has somewhat countered this by offering some of the best customer support in the online gaming business, along with a wide range of choices in games and the quality of them. The real Achilles heel of the Ladbrokes online casino is that there is no real multi-platform support for the instant play casino. However, due to the vast majority of online gamers owning Windows-based PCs, they should be able to access the games with no problem. Both the download and instant play casinos offer well over 100 games each for gamers to explore, and we think that's more than enough reason to go for 'Brokes!
