   Bonus Slot Reviews # 9
Following are descriptions and reviews of ten bonus slots for you to explore on your next casino adventure.

1) Leprechaun’s Gold: There are several frequent bonus events in this game so let’s start with the main screen bonus named Rainbowland. When rainbow symbols are lined up on the first, third and fifth reels, the player is prompted to select pots of gold revealing bonus amounts until one of the pots releases Lucky the Leprechaun. Now you visit Lucky’s House where there are five more pots at the end of rainbows and you choose one for an additional bonus. If Lucky’s Jackpot is selected, the reward can be as high as 14,200 coins for the 20-line game. Two bonus features occur in the primary game. When three clover symbols land on the first three reels, the Lucky Shuffle bonus begins. Each clover has a number assigned to it and the symbols dance around the screen finally stopping to form a number that is multiplied by your line bet for a total reward. The Gold Coin Bonus is activated when a gold coin lands anywhere on the 3rd, 4th or 5th reels. The player then selects a gold coin that reveals either a multiplier, five free spins or a trip to Rainbowland. Let Lucky Leprechaun lure you to lock up the loot.

2) Liberace: Known to millions of adoring fans as ‘Mr. Showmanship’, the legendary Liberace is now immortalized in a dazzling reel spinner. For more than 40 years, the extravagantly dressed entertainer delighted audiences around the globe. His television show was carried by 217 stations in the USA and in 20 foreign countries. He has shared superstar billing with the likes of Elvis and Sinatra, who already have games in their honor. Add one more slot for superstars known by one name only.

3) Life of Luxury: Dawwwlings -- shall we move over to the slot that offers red sports cars, yachts, my favorite beverage--champagne, lobsters, gold coins and that, must-have gift of diamonds. All these ‘necessities’ have more bonus features of multipliers, free spins and nine lines of ‘rich’ graphics. Jazz sounds, champagne and diamonds sparkling--I deserve this slot.

4) LIFE: This game hit the casino floor with a big flourish and round of applause. The boomers love this 40+ year old game that sends players around a maze of spaces representing all of life’s milestones. Icons from the board game serve as reel symbols, and a wild symbol substitutes for all but bonus-trigger symbols. When three or more spinner dial symbols land on a payline, the screen shows a LIFE game board unfolding with a red car at the start position. The player touches the dial and the car moves a random number of spaces revealing coin or multiplier amounts until a Collect symbol lands. If you land on a spot marked Early Retirement, you rack up bonus credits at a cartoon retirement party. The other bonus feature is Life’s Little Games occurring when three or more of that title appear on a TV screen. The player again touches the dial to spin and stop at one of ten different mini-bonus games such as Skunk Money or Treasure Chest. Play the Game of Life and grab the brass ring of $1000/week.

5) Lion Fish: Two versions: 5 or 9 payline offering wild symbols and scatter pays instead of free spins. Underwater creatures such as starfish and shells are dotted on the screen with two wild symbols--Lion Fish and Diver that rack up those extra credits just for you. As in most bonus versions, 5 selected symbols lined up gets that jackpot payout and no, you don’t have to be underwater to get it. I tried this one recently—fun.

6) Little Green Men:
There are aliens among us. ‘Keep out’ scatter pays send you flying through space to one of two bonus screens. Pick one of the spaceships racing across the skyline with your bonus amount or abduct one of your fellow humans: cowboy, fat man or schoolgirl to send up as a sacrifice to the aliens. You’ve been warned—you will howl in delight.

7) Lock & Roll: Want to put your machine playing skills to work? Here’s the game for you. Players get to re-spin any or all the reels once on the same bet if not happy with initial results. Similar to video poker, but instead of a poker hand, the symbols are randomly generated to appear on the reel. Make a decision on your hold for one or all of symbols, then re-spin and any unheld symbols are replaced. Meanwhile, the RNG is busy selecting 3 numbers on original spin plus selecting any other number for each reel that is re-spun. You get two shots at hitting every winning combo. Skill is in knowing the pay table. Some games have clues; e.g., only hold symbols that match each other. Usually you will not hold a blank, unless it is a wild cherry where you would hold a blank if the next symbol up is a cherry paying in any position. The best bet for a novice player is the help screen that lists the odds of each symbol showing up on the pay line. Take the time to read it for this game is worth the extra effort in frequent payouts.

8) Loco Loot: This Mexican themed game displays symbols such as sombreros, Chihuahuas and bottles of Tequila along with our main character Loco Louie, a coyote bandito. Three, 4 or 5 Chihuahuas pays 2, 12 or 50 coins times your bet for 3, 4 or 5 scattered anywhere on the screen. Poker symbols and El Banko also provide additional credits. The top jackpot symbol, a sack of loot pays from 50-1500 times your line bet. Loco Louie becomes a wild symbol for all positions on specific reels resulting in high payouts from this slot players’ Amigo.

9) Love to Win: The theme here is dating with a Love Meter while rating your performance and rewarding you accordingly. Three chocolate symbols trigger the Box of Chocolates bonus round where the player is prompted to select three chocolates revealing bonus amounts. If a high amount is won on a particular flavor selection, the player has the option of choosing the same flavor again for a duplicate bonus reward. Three or more Heart Meter symbols trigger the main event named the Dating Bonus where the player picks a couple to go on a date and this is where our Love Meter rates the man on such things as the quality of the gift for his date or the vehicle in which he arrived. When the couple arrive at their date location they ask each other questions, displayed on the screen in word or thought balloons, and their responses determine their compatibility and reward. The final outcome of the date provides an extra bonus for the player if it turns out positive. Ah, l’amour, l’amour, c’est amusant, oui?

10) Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania: The theme is centered around an old New England fisherman named Larry who has a comical and wisecracking accent. Three lobsters anywhere on the main screen pay 5 times the bet, four lobsters pay 25 times the bet and five of them will reward you with 200 times your bet. Three Lobstermania symbols appearing left to right on a payline trigger the second-screen ‘Buoy Bonus’ where the player picks one of the Lobstermania symbols revealing 2, 3 or 4 picks to continue this round. The scene switches to Larry on his boat with buoys in the water marking the locations where he has dropped his lobster traps. Larry prompts the player to select buoy locations until the picks are exhausted. The more lobsters Larry hauls out of the water, the higher the bonus. The New Englander’s wisecracks as the traps are pulled from the water are ‘quite a catch’.

Until we meet again in the Slots Playground…
