Following are descriptions and reviews of ten bonus slots for you to explore on your next casino adventure.
1) Harley-Davidson: A true American icon, the concept of this game is to depict the activity of traveling around the country, going to different road rallies. The second-screen bonus combines an image of a physical reel protruding from the screen as per ‘Price is Right’. This reel represents the front motorcycle tire. The distinct roar of the ‘Hog’ is an authentic recording from a Harley complete with gear changes. The game is a 12-line nickel slot, with bets up to five-coins per line or $3 maximum and the progressive resets at $50,000. Besides the lump sum jackpot, the winner also gets a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy motorcycle by lining up five H-D symbols on the first payline with a max. coin bet. Three or more ‘Eagle’ symbols scattered anywhere allow you to select one for a random bonus. The main ‘Great American Rally’ bonus is triggered by three or more Road Rally symbols on a payline and the player gets to hop aboard the Harley and try his/her hand at up to three+ bonus spins. The amount of bonus spins and credits accumulated appear on the motorcycle gauges in front of you. If all three rallies are completed, the player is prompted to select an H-D T-shirt to reveal additional bonus amounts or a multiplier from 2x to 5x. If you happen to land five triggering symbols to get to this round, the chances you will reach the Great American Bonus and a shot at the top prizes is 90% for the Whole Hog.
2) Hitchcock: The films of Alfred Hitchcock are played out in live-action video in three bonus events. The Make a Movie Bonus is triggered when three of the familiar Hitchcock silhouettes appear on the payline. A collection of symbols representing frames from a film reveal bonus credits until The End is revealed. Next round: three films are revealed with a fourth film, Psycho, added if the player could find a frame in which the famous director appeared in one of his cameos. Bird symbols scattered anywhere on the first, third and fifth reels trigger The Birds Bonus where you select seagulls revealing different credits until one of the menacing birds fly into the video screen, actually appearing to crack the glass. Lastly, three motel keys trigger the Bates Motel Bonus where the player picks two keys from behind the desk of the motel office revealing a bonus credit and a multiplier. Great fun, music and animation pay homage to this ‘scawy’ director.
3) Hollywood Squares: Current stars of this game show such as Don Rickles, Joan Rivers and Whoopi Goldberg are all done in caricatures with hilarious lines and real voice-overs. Indeed, just standing near the machine is entertaining because their snappy patter continues when the game is in the ‘attract’ mode. ‘Wild Star Bonus’ occurs when star symbols land on the first and fifth reels. The outer reels lock in position and the middle reels re-spin five times with the celebrities acting as wild symbols. ‘Hollywood Squares’ bonus is triggered when three or more of the show’s logos appear on a payline. The player then plays a game of tic-tac-toe touching a square for his ‘X’ while the computer chooses the ‘O’. If you win the tic-tac-toe game, the Question Bonus round begins and you choose one of the stars for a question. After some wisecracking, the celebrity will answer correctly and your winnings will be doubled up to 5,250 coins. Win or not this game is packed with fun while you ‘chat up’ the stars.
4) Hot, Hot, Hot: Shades of the Caribbean with the familiar song and an Island paradise luring you with ‘pearl’, ‘starfish’ and ‘seahorse’ symbols. Select your spin button from the first, third and fifth reels, for when a pearl appears on the reel chosen, it activates the diver swimming after your precious bonus win. Three starfish trigger three divers who race for extra bucks and keep you hummin’ Hot, Hot, Hot -- yeah!
5) I Dream of Jeannie: Barbara Eden lends her voice, character and hosts this popular slot. Watch for three or more Spin symbols to enter one of two bonus games. Second screen presents five bottles for your selection that determines the number of free spins reward. Wheel spin displays 2X-1000X multipliers for added bonus bucks. Wish symbols trigger second bonus when scattered on 2nd, 3rd and 4th reels. You pick three of six wishes presented that can double or add an extra wish to your credit meter. Here’s to all your wishes coming true.
6) I Love Lucy-Vitameatavegamin: Everybody loves Lucy in this classic episode when she attempts a commercial hawking a vitamin product containing mostly alcohol. The base game is Double Diamond, Five Times Pay and Triple Lucky 7s. It’s a progressive machine that pays a lump sum of at least $500,000. when 3 I Love Lucy heart logos are lined up. The top-box features a picture of Lucy holding a bottle of Vitameatavegamin while to her right are five circles labeled, SPOON YOUR WAY TO WEALTH. When a bonus symbol lands on the third reel, you are entertained by the original audio from the episode and the circles spin in sequence. Each circle has bonus amounts and an arrow. The player progresses up the sequence of circles accumulating up to 250 credits that are then multiplied by the wager. This game is ‘easy to swallow’.
7) I.C. Money: You are adrift in the frozen Arctic surrounded by penguins, ‘wild’ polar bears and snowflakes. The bonus round scene of the (brrrrr) letters spelling I.C. MONEY requires you to choose a letter with bonus $ and one with a floating polar bear. Find Mr. Bear and meet his whole family who invites you to pick an ice crystal for extra bucks. Overall payouts won’t leave you out in the cold. There is now an I.C. Money $ version.
8) I.C. Cash: This sequel to I.C. Money with its popular polar bear and penguin characters has added new friends: a baby polar bear, a walrus and a US Navy seal. Four or more fishing penguin symbols trigger the Fishing Bonus where credit amounts float across the screen. You select a fishing penguin to retrieve credits determined by number of penguins caught. Three or more Iceberg symbols trigger the Super Pole Bonus, a goofy ski-racing event where you choose a skier and a course that is easy, medium or hard. Your choice makes a difference in that easy has more small wins and hard has larger but less frequent wins. The race begins and arrival at Frosty Island gets an extra bonus or crashing into an obstacle gets a small credit. This game’s a hoot, and be sure to send up the cheers for your skier.
9) In the Money: Winning combinations with the 5-Bar symbol that will multiply X5, or two for X25. Scatter pay icons of ‘In the Money’ start up the familiar hit of ‘We’re in the Money’ as you eye the results of the re-spin bonus amount up to 500 coins. Two possibilities await for the top jackpot of 10,000--three 7’s or three wild bars and you are, well, just as the song says.
10) Instant Winner: If you are a lottery player, do I have the game for you! Graphics include a variety of fruit, lottery signs and ‘wild jackpot’ symbols. Three scatter-pay ‘sweepstakes’ produces a ‘check’ on the bonus screen for as much as 130 times the total bet--e.g., 9 line 45 credit=5850. And more, three ‘scratch ‘n win’ produce six instant lottery tickets with familiar names: Reel ‘Em In, Filthy Rich, Jackpot Party tickets, etc. Scratch for winnings based on spots correctly matched and throw in a random bonus via your line bet. This one offers better odds than any corner store can boast.
