Following are descriptions and reviews of ten bonus slots for you to explore on your next casino adventure.
1) Easy Riches: is a triple progressive linked slot with a growing meter bonus in a multi-line video. Features a 15-line, 45-coin configuration allowing players to qualify for three progressive meters in increments of 15 coins. Coins 1 to 15 (1 to 15 lines) qualify for the first progressive meter; 16 to 30 for the second meter; and 31 to 45 for the third progressive.
2) Easy Street: Displayed as a board game and as much fun to play. Look for the color-coded dial in the top corner and the word ‘spin’. Chance, the energetic dog leads the way. Fruit, 7’s, Lucky’s doghouse, dog bones and ‘wild bone’ symbols dot the screen. That same dial symbol in triplicate will take you to the bonus round with a start of the spin. Gather bonus amounts as you spin forward. ‘Go Home’ or ‘Easy Street’ at end square signals the round is over. A secondary round for ‘Easy Street’ opens up to a nostalgic Route 66 scene featuring nine hangouts--motel, bank, the usual diner, convenience store, etc. Let Chance know which location appeals and watch the mounting credits.
3) Elvira: This ‘branded’ slot features the ‘Mistress of the Dark’, hostess of B-movies. The game comes in two versions, one a 15-line and the other a 9-line, both progressive resetting at $100,000. The reel symbols reflect the games horror movie theme, containing spiders, bats and tombstones accompanied by eerie music. The Web of Winnings bonus round is triggered by lining up spiders on a payline. Here, the player chooses a spider-web symbol that reveals from three to five extra spins for bonus amounts. Credits are also accumulated in this round by landing on treasure chests that open to reveal various bonus amounts. When two Midnight Madness symbols land anywhere on the first and fifth reels the player is prompted to select a TV screen for either a point value already accumulated or another screen and a chance at a higher bonus. Elvira then asks the player to choose a Rating Skull and if your selection matches hers, the total bonus credits are doubled. Lastly, the Deadhead Scatter and Shatter bonus is triggered when all three Deadhead symbols land anywhere on reels 1, 3 and 5. The player selects one Deadhead (heads in bottles of formaldehyde) which pops through the top of the jar revealing a bonus amount. The voice-over is actually Cassandra Peterson, Elvira herself, whose sexy form is beautifully sculpted at the top of the machine. The game features 15 clips from campy horror films and brings out the ‘scawy madness in us all’.
4) Emerald Dragon: This video game is rich with Chinese myths and symbols where dragons represent special scatter pays that award additional credits when 3, 4 or 5 appear. A special ‘Emerald Dragon’ feature animates into a second screen bonus with a grid of emeralds. Touch an emerald to uncover a hidden amount. Get the same amount twice and that’s your win. Discover the ‘Win x 2’ or ‘Win x 3’ symbols and the next emerald touched is multiplied by 2 or 3. If both ‘Win x’ symbols are revealed, the next emerald amount is a multiple of 6 win. Also available in penny denominations, this slot is worth ‘dragon’ yourself over for the ‘green’.
5) Enchanted Forest: Players encounter mystical creatures, dragons and elves in this colorful game. Whimsical ‘Tree Eyes’ appearing anywhere on reels 2, 3 and 4 animate and blink for bonus pays. These symbols substitute for all symbols in all positions on that reel and pay for every winning combination. When 3 or more fabled ‘Magic Mushroom’ symbols appear in any position, it’s considered a scatter pay and additional credits are awarded. The 9-line set-up has a top payout of 40,000 coins and the 20-line game’s top jackpot is 100,000 coins. Players can enter this magical domain for pennies on some versions of this ‘enchanting’ slot.
6) Enchanted Unicorn: Reel symbols on this 20-line game include magical plants, a princess and a damsel in distress. The words, ‘Enchanted Unicorn’ move you to the bonus rounds. You are paid if a unicorn appears on one of the reels during the primary game. The second screen bonus is triggered when a treasure chest symbol appears on the first and fifth reels, then you pick one spot in each row on a five-row, six-column grid revealing bonus amounts. Uncover an ‘Enchanted Unicorn’ and all squares are revealed to total your bonus. However, once a werewolf ‘horns’ in on this charmed setting, the bonus round ends.
7) Evel Knievel: Motorcyclist daredevil Evel Knievel’s actual voice was recorded for the voice-overs, like: “Life isn’t worth anything unless you’ve got some gamble in ya.” The primary game bonus happens when a stunt locale appears on the middle reels plus two ramps with an obstacle on the center reel. The player then views an authentic video of one of Evel’s stunts before their reward. A second bonus round is revealed when three or more X-Ray symbols appear on a payline. Upon your selection, a hidden bonus amount is yours. The main event is the Daredevil Bonus depicting Knievel prepared to jump over obstacles as soon as the player presses the Jump button. When successful, the player can have him jump again for up to three times or you may elect to come to a screeching halt. You can Jump and Bump without the lumps here.
8) Good Times: This slot offers 3 varied winning 7’s combos and a ‘Good Times Pays’ wild symbol. The jackpot multiplier works in tiers from 1x/2x to the top level of 12x/144x. The real fun begins after a multiplied jackpot is paid. Then the next Times Pay payout is selected randomly and not necessarily the lowest pay. While the dollar players require a larger bankroll here, the payout multipliers create a ‘roller coaster ride of fun x Good Times Pays profits’.
9) Gopher Cash: This is a golfer’s dream slot, ‘fore’ when a ‘score card’ symbol appears on the third reel, you multiply your win by 2X, 3X or 5X. Next round--the ‘gopher’ symbol on the first and fifth reel tees you up for the Gopher Cash Bonus Round. Nine golf balls with a frog and eight bonus amounts appear. If you pick the frog first, you move down the green to the Double Pay Bonus round; pick the same again on the first try, and you’ve just scored a Quadruple pay and a ‘hole-in-one’ style win.
10) Green Lizard: There’s a green lizard that flits into top billing as the wild card, substituting for all symbols except those Aussie Galah birds. When one or more of these pink-breasted birds are caught basking anywhere on the screen, they pay from 2 to 5,000 additional credits. Catching 3 or more Galahs pays off anywhere, but when they perch on or near the center reels, you are in for real rewards that can multiply by 2 or as high as 10. Roosting way up high is a 250,000-coin award on the 20-line version of this ‘high-flying’ slot.
