Following are descriptions and reviews of ten bonus slots for you to explore on your next casino adventure.
1) Men Are From Mars: Don’t we all need some relationship advice? I’m sure this game will appeal to the gentler sex. (Which one is that nowadays?) Here is a sample of a typical question that could reward you with up to 20 free spins. A man scores the most points with me for watching: a) Melrose Place, b) Living With Martha Stewart or c) Mary Tyler Moore reruns. You may have to save a third seat for your lawyer if you and your lady play this one.
2) Million Dollar Pyramid: IGT has produced a version of the ‘all-time greatest game show’ with the $1,000,000 Pyramid slot. Players can bet from one to max. 90 coins that offers a million bucks. Secondary bonus is achieved when 3 scattered Mystery 7’s appear on the primary reels of the pay window awaiting your selection for a bonus amount. The main bonus is triggered when Winner’s Circle symbols appear on reels one, three and five. On-screen are 54 boxes with either coin values or pyramids hidden behind each box. Choose the correct 7 boxes with max. coin and the million is yours.
3) Money Bars: Scattered about, across reels, in rows, and more than three translates into more $$. The third coin sets up the Money Bar table with high payouts of 1000 coins for eight of them. Snag all nine money bars to fill all three reels and your reward is 4000 coins. Factor in three 7 combos; mixed, all blue, and all red for additional cash. Hold on--another bonus pay occurs when any 7 hits the first two reels with three Money Bars on reel three. Money, Money, Money=$$$ fun.
4) Money In The Bank: Traditional poker symbols, gold coins, gold bars, a white-haired banker and a safe are some of the graphics of this new game. When the Banker and two or more of the Safe symbols land on an active payline, you receive ten free games and all jackpots won are doubled. This feature can also pop up during the bonus round, thereby rewarding the player with twenty or more free games. Any time the Banker lands alone or lands with one Safe, those reels are frozen and you are prompted to re-spin once for a chance at the ten free game feature. Bank on Fun and Freebies here.
5) Monopoly - Hot Properties: This newer Monopoly series game features four bonus rounds, the most frequent being the Dice Bonus. When three or more dice land from left to right on the reels, each pair of dice animates and you are rewarded the total, times the line bet. As in the board game, doubles on the dice give you an extra bonus roll for additional awards. The Hat Bonus is triggered when three hat symbols land on an active payline. The player picks one of five hats on display and as long as the selection reveals a credit amount, he moves up from Grey, Silver to Gold. If a Tax or Property Card is revealed the round ends. Scattered train symbols on the first, third or fifth reels start the Train Race Bonus where the player selects a railroad to compete in a four train race to accumulate credits depending on his final placement in the race. Three or more Deed symbols trigger the main bonus called the House Building Bonus. The player is assigned a property group at random along with five free spins. Everytime a house or hotel lands during the free spins, the player is awarded the value of that property. Park Place and Boardwalk can run this bonus round up to 255,000 credits for the top award in this game. Williams continues their ‘hot streak’ with another Monopoly version.
6) Monopoly - Money Grab: Say hello to the eighth game of the Monopoly series. A money grab booth is displayed near the top of the machine. This plexiglass chamber contains Mr. Monopoly, AKA Rich Uncle Moneybags, with Monopoly money blowing around him. The primary game symbols include Miss Virginia Ave., Marvin Gardens, Mrs. Park Place and Louie the Counterfeiter. ‘Chance’ cards on an active payline trigger a bonus where a player flips one of three ‘Chance’ cards to reveal a bonus amount or an entrance card to one of three additional bonus rounds. One of these bonus events contains a Scatter Spin with a random amount of spins that have more payouts then your normal Scatter Pays. Second screen events are called the ‘Timer Money Grab’ and the ‘Cashier Money Grab’ when a player has an opportunity to grab as much money as possible from the chamber before the timer runs out. Williams has ‘grabbed’ the brass ring again with their ‘Monopoly’ on bonus slots.
7) Monopoly - Movers & Shakers: Williams brings on #6 in the series with the familiar board-game second screen bonus. This time around, $50, $100 and $500 bill pieces are lined up as multipliers 50,100 and 500 respectively. Three ‘GO’ symbols starts an invitation to spin and collect the value of the property selected randomly. A dice toss adds extra spins or bonus bucks to your total: snake eyes=double, seven=adds value of properties on either side and a 12=token bonus race for 200-500 coins X line bet. Say hello to Rich Uncle Pennybags for me as you explore this newer version.
8) Monopoly - Party Train: This version concentrates on the four railroads for its main theme. Train icons, Mr. Monopoly and Free Parking are wild symbols and the main screen bonus is triggered when boxcars are lined up on the first, third and fifth reels. The player selects one of the boxcars revealing a multiplier and if the selection reveals Mr. Monopoly dressed as a hobo the multiplier rises to a higher level. Three or more ‘Train Ticket’ symbols and you decide which track the ‘Party Train’ will travel. Four picks follow to get around the board while receiving bonuses on each landing space that include ‘Community Chest’ and/or ‘Chance’. All Monopoly fans will enjoy this updated version, so ‘Hop Aboard’.
9) Monster Match: A second set of reels, placed sideways and spinning horizontally are placed in the top box of this Monster themed game. The base game is Double Diamonds that is accompanied by the Monster Mash tune with new lyrics. Jackpots are doubled when one Monster Mash wild symbol lands just right or quadruples if two appear. The top box features cartoon monsters each with bonus coin amounts and the outer edge has backlit multiplier amounts. When the wild symbol lands on the third reel, it triggers flashing behind the Spins Thermometer and selects 1 to 10 spins. You are now required to use your spins to try to match up three body sections of the monster characters on the horizontally spinning upper reel. The trigger to spin the bonus reels resembles a high-voltage switch and you could be ‘electrified’ by the payout.
10) Multi-Card Bingo: Below the 5 reels of this 9-line game are 5 corresponding bingo cards. When matching numbers appear on the bingo balls and the bingo cards, the cards light up allowing 5 bingo games at the same time. A completed bingo card awards the player with a mini-progressive payout that averages 280 coins when max. coins are played. The bingo cards are independent of each other, so the game continues until each card hits a bingo. The second screen bonus contains a standard 5-grid bingo card along with several bingo patterns with payouts ranging from 1-150 coins hidden under each of the 25 squares on the card. After selecting one of the 12 patterns, the 5 squares flip over revealing the bonus amount that you can accept or refuse by picking another pattern. This entertaining game leaves the player with many strategic choices and the opportunity to scream BINGO!
