Slot machines are probably the oldest and most familiar of all ‘casino machines’. Although there are a number of variations, the basic slot machine is a game of chance in which the player spins a set of reels (usually three or five), which each feature a sequence of symbols on them. When the reels stop spinning, if the combination of symbols displayed left to right across the ‘payline’ matches a particular sequence the player wins.
