Five Card Stud strategy
The online casino version of this style of Poker is sometimes billed as CyberStud or Caribbean Stud Poker, and has quite a high house edge of 5.22%, assuming ‘perfect play’. What this means is that if you’re not playing with a strategy that gets you close to ‘perfect play’ the house edge gets higher and higher, which is even less in your interests!

Because of the vast number of combinations of hands the dealer and player can be competing with, the optimal strategy for playing this online casino Poker is incredibly intricate. It’s also something that we’d be amazed you could reliably commit to memory! The good news is that you can deploy a simpler set of rules that is highly effective and produces a result that’s not far off a ‘perfect play strategy.

There are three scenarios to consider after you’ve been dealt your cards and can see the dealer’s single ‘face up’ card.

You can’t match or beat the dealer’s minimum qualifying hand of Ace and King. FOLD.
You hold a Pair or better. RAISE.
You’re best hand is Ace and King – RAISE if:
  - The dealer’s open card is an Ace of a King and you also hold a Queen or a Jack.

- The dealer’s open card is any card between a 2 and a Queen (inclusive) and it matches the rank of one of your other three cards.

- The rank of the dealer’s open card doesn’t appear in your hand, but your other three cards include a Queen and one other card that outranks it.

Using this simple strategy will allow you to play this casino Poker at very close to the best possible odds.
